Life is Better on a Boat!

Step aboard and experience Wisconsin Dells from the water. Cruise along the Wisconsin River and see breathtaking cliffs, gorges, canyons, and rock formations carved into the areas Cambrian sandstone or drift among the peaceful Lake Delton. With the various boat and duck tours available in Wisconsin Dells, sit back and enjoy the beauty that made the Dells famous when you head out on the water for these nautical attractions:

A duck ride is a great way to experience the Dells on both land and water. Take a trip back in time and ride the Dells Army Ducks or the Original Wisconsin Ducks. Both of these tours take place on amphibious vehicles that were originally created to help with the transportation of goods and troops from water to shore back in World War II. The entertaining tour guides aboard the ducks will fill your head with knowledge about the early Dells and the creation of Lake Delton, as well as pointing out the most breathtaking natural wonders and rock formations along the Wisconsin River. This family-friendly experience is a staple to the Dells and if you’re lucky, you might even be able to try driving the duck while cruising down the Wisconsin River.

This summer, hop aboard a Dells Boat Tour and you’re sure to have an excellent Wisconsin Dells experience. The Wisconsin River is separated into the Lower and Upper Dells by the city’s Kilbourn Dam. On a Lower Dells Boat Tour, you’ll get to see rock formations such as Hawk’s Beak, a sandstone formation that was featured on the cover of Life Magazine in 1964. On the Upper Dells Boat Tour, you’ll get to enjoy a few stops, such as exploring Witches Gulch and seeing where the 4 counties that surround the Wisconsin Dells area come together. For a more romantic boat ride, jump on a Sunset Dinner Cruise and enjoy breathtaking views, a delicious meal, and live entertainment as you watch the sun set along the cliffs of the Wisconsin River.

For a thrilling, action-packed boat ride, check out the Jet Boats! These boat rides are a fast and furious way to see the amazing rock formations of the Dells while squeezing through high cliffs and canals. With 360 degree spins, high speed runs and power stops, this is an entertaining way for older children and adults to cruise down the Wisconsin River. In the Dells, you can ride Jet Boat Adventures, Wildthing Jet Boats, or Captain Ron’s Original Jet Boats! If you’ve never been in a boat when they “floor-it”, you need to try a ride on the Jet Boats. Just a warning: You will get wet, so have some towels waiting for you when you get back to the car!

For a radical themed tour of the Upper Dells, take a ride on PT 109 Boat Patrol! This 45 minute tour explores 8 miles of the Wisconsin River with nature, history, and entertainment for the whole family.

If you’d like a different kind of adventure, then you’ll enjoy Princess Kay Paddlewheel Riverboat. This old style paddle boat features an elegant air conditioned/heated dining room and offers a great, scenic tour of the upper Dells. With a full service bar, Princess Kay offers charters for weddings, private parties, meetings, and more.
