Cambrian Overlook- If you only have a couple of minutes to spare, Cambrian Overlook is a great place to park the car and snap a couple of photos. Located just a short drive from the downtown area, the Cambrian overlook has a paved parking lot, fantastic view of the Wisconsin River, and a trail that leads to a beach below. Locals use this old boat landing as a spot for kayaking and canoeing.

Mirror Lake State Park- Mirror Lake is usually calm and often as glassy-smooth as a mirror, hence the name. This is strictly a no-wake zone lake that is perfect for canoeing and kayaking. This narrow lake with sandstone cliffs located in a State Park also contains almost 29 miles of scenic hiking trails.

Dells of The Wisconsin River State Natural AreaAlso known as “ The Chapel Gorge trail” located off River Rd, this is a 2-mile loop that is a scenic natural area to walk through the wooded edges of the Upper Wisconsin River with a steep trail leading down to the river below. The river current is very strong in this area and is not recommended for swimming, but if your goal is to get some great photos of the river then this is the place for you!
