What’s New: Slideboarding at the Wilderness Resort

This blog post was published on December 30, 2015 and may contain outdated information.

Slideboarding just opened up at the Wilderness Resort and this is a waterslide gaming experience that everyone needs to try! Over the past few months, the Wilderness Resort took their 2 Claim Jumper Challenge Waterslides within the Klondike Kavern Waterpark and turned them into Slideboarding rides. What exactly is slideboarding? You sit on a slideboard, which looks a little bit like a surfboard with handles. On the handles are 4 buttons, red, blue, yellow, and green. As you slide down the waterslide, lights appear above your head. The goal is to press the corresponding button on your sideboard handle with the light you travel under as you’re going down the slide. At the end of the ride, you receive a score based on how accurately you hit the buttons as you traveled down the slide. It’s fun to race your friends and see who can get a higher score. When you pick up your board, before you head up the slide tower, scan your wristband and the board, and come up with a cool name for yourself! This name gets posted next to your score at the bottom of the ride! Do you want some practice? There is a free slideboarding application within the Apple App Store and on Google Play.
