Fire blazed on multiple flat screen TV’s, the tables glittered with icy table cloths, and the two elements collided together in the red and silver tinsel that adorned the pillars and railings surrounding the dance floor at the 2013 Fire and Ice Ball.
Hosted by Marley’s on Friday, December 13th, the first annual Fire and Ice Ball help raised funds for Kops for Kids. Kops for Kids is a combined effort of the Wisconsin Dells and Lake Delton police departments to give kids in need the Christmas they deserve. This includes raising funds and collecting toys, clothing, and canned goods throughout the year in order to give these children food, toys, and much needed winter clothing for the holidays. The week of Christmas they host a big party for all the kids and Santa makes a special guest appearance!
Tickets for the Fire and Ice Ball were $10.00 and half the proceeds went to Kops for Kids. The centerpiece for the big bash was an ice sculpture from which guests could take shots for $3 choosing either fire or ice, from which, all proceeds went to the cause as well.
Local policemen and women were in attendance dressed in full uniform and guests could choose to be cool as ice or hot as fire! Fire blazed that evening as most of the women chose stunning red dresses as their attire. However, it was hard to miss the sparkling silver and brilliant blue dresses as they definitely shined. Those who really got into the theme were awarded with a free drink, courtesy of The Reef at Marley’s.
The dance floor was a sea of heat and chill as guests swayed to the beat all night long for an evening that was definitely one to remember! The first Fire and Ice Ball, of what is hopefully many more to come, was a huge success. It was wonderful to see the community come together for such a thrilling event and important cause. A huge thank you to Marley’s for hosting such an incredible night!
