The Holidays are all about giving, so to kick off the season of sharing and caring, The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train came chugging into The Dells at 3 p.m. on December 5th. Dazzling lights lit up the train tracks as the side of the train opened up to reveal the incredibly talented Canadian band, The Claytones, for an afternoon of holiday favorites and of course, dancing to stay warm!
The event kicked off, before the Holiday Train arrived at 1:30 next to the train station with a brat and hot dog cookout, raffle ticket sales, the Wisconsin Dells High School band, sleigh rides, and the arrival of everyone’s favorite jolly fellow, Santa Claus! Mrs. Claus joined him a little later, accompanied by the elves and bags filled with candy for all the children.
The purpose of the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is to raise funds and food donations for the local food pantries. Those in attendance were encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item. Upon arrival, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train presented the Central Wisconsin Community Action food pantry with a check for over $4,000!
Despite the freezing temperatures, the 8th annual Canadian Pacific Holiday Train event was a success! Kids we’re dancing with big smiles on their faces as they greeted Santa, parents held each other tight from the chilly air, and friends sang along with the band.
