The annual Autumn Harvest Fest took place in The Dells this past weekend as a way to celebrate the autumn harvest season. It might have been a cloudy, chilly couple of days but that didn’t deter locals and tourists alike from welcoming fall in the best way!
Saturday morning, artists donned their jackets and opened their craft booths while some got a head start on the scarecrow-stuffing contest as people flocked to Downtown Dells to enjoy crafts, food, beer, fall themed activities, and more. Kids loved the pony and hayrides as well as the petting zoo filled with tons of fuzzy animals! The little ones could be spotted with their recently decorated pumpkins and drawings while showing off their freshly painted faces. Parents eagerly snapped pictures while taking turns shopping the craft booths or stopping in the Dells on Tap beer tent.
Dells on Tap featured over 25 breweries each eager to share a taste of their finest beers. Brewmasters were also more than happy to add a bit of brewing knowledge to those curious enough to ask. Tickets to the event also included a commemorative glass. With so many incredible beers to enjoy, it truly was a beer lover’s paradise! The festivities continued on Sunday with more live entertainment such as Ozseeker The Clown, Prairie Thunder Cloggers, and CheeseCake Heaven sponsored a cookie corner. Yum! Earlier that morning, cowboys and cowgirls could be seen running through the Dells area participating in the annual Honky Tonk run.
The event included a marathon, half-marathon, and a 5K. Throughout the running trail, live country music and DJs were playing and a western themed after party complete with food, beer and country line dancing followed the race! Finishers were awarded with a customized cowboy hat, as well as other prizes. Congratulations to the winners: Micah Mohler (marathon), Tim King (half marathon) and Pete Voss (5K).
From fall themed family fun, to an adult beer tasting event, and a run for those dedicated people, this weekend had something for everyone as we celebrated Autumn in Wisconsin Dells!
