Labor day originally started as a day to honor labor workers and their families and was celebrated with a parade and big festival that followed. It also once marked the start of school and still does for many students. As long as people had the day free, retailers started hosting huge sales on Labor Day Weekend. Good news to shopaholics, Wisconsin Dells will surely have huge sales! Today, most people see Labor Day as a way to celebrate the end of summer and welcome fall and football season.
Well, there’s nothing quite like summer in the Dells so we like to commemorate the holiday in a big way! There will be entertainment all weekend long in Downtown Dells. The kids always love comedian and magician TJ Howell who will be performing from 7-9 on Saturday, August 31st on the corner of Eddy Street and Broadway. Parents get your cameras ready because TJ is big on audience participation from the kids! On Sunday, September 1st, the Pints will be performing at the same location from 7-9. Come dance away summer and drink to the fall!
Of course Downtown Dells will be filled with sidewalk sales and unbelievable discounts at all the retail, souvenir, t-shirt and candy shops. Speaking of sales…4 days of deals you won’t find anywhere else and to add to the excitement? It’s all your favorite name brands! Tanger Outlet mall will host their annual Labor Day Weekend Sale August 30th through September 2nd.
