Your 2014 Wisconsin Dells Spring Itinerary

DAY 1: Downtown Dells

Morning – Begin your first day with breakfast at Paul Bunyan’s. Opening for the 2014 season on March 14th, this all you can eat breakfast is served lumberjack style for a dining experience you won’t soon forget! Lumberjack style means that plates full of everything on the menu will be delivered to your table and keep on coming until you’re full. The donuts are famous in The Dells and available for sale in their gift shop so you can take them home too! Breakfast runs from 7 a.m. until noon and includes: flapjacks, sausage links, baked ham, scrambled eggs, camp fried potatoes, French toast (early group), biscuits and gravy (late group), and buttermilk donuts, as well as, coffee, tea, milk, and juice.

Afternoon – Just a little down the road from Paul Bunyan’s is Broadway, the main strip of Downtown Dells. Here, you can shop to your hearts content. Kids will find endless giggles in the t-shirt shops and will love hunting for souvenirs at the various gift shops. Don’t worry mom, there are some fabulous boutiques as well such as Alpha Beta Karma and Robin’s Nest Restorations. Take a break for lunch at one of the following locations: Monks, Dells Distillery, MAC’s, or Alabama Dixie (BRAND NEW!).

Night – After lunch, check out all the fun-filled attractions Downtown Dells has to offer! Nightmares come to life at the haunted houses, hours of gaming excitement can be found at Wild Fun Zone, watch fudge be made and purchase a few goodies at the various candy and fudge shops, and go back in time while getting a commemorative photo to prove it at the vintage photo galleries. After so much fun and excitement, it’s time to fuel up again. Carvelli’s Italian Restaurant has fantastic pasta dishes and yummy pizzas as well as delicious dinner entrees. High Rock Cafe also has delectable options for dinner including: entrée specials, light wraps and salads, and prime pastas.

DAY 2: Indoor Waterparks

Morning – You won’t want to waste a minute of waterpark time so grab a quick breakfast at one of the two Dunkin’ Donuts locations in town. They both have drive through windows for extra quick service. They have variety donut boxes in ½ dozen or a dozen so you can easily get plenty of donuts that everyone will love!

Afternoon – After breakfast, head to the indoor waterparks for a full day of splashtastic fun! Wilderness Resort, Great Wolf Lodge, Hotel Rome, Chula Vista Resort, and several other hotels in the area have awesome waterparks that will ensure a whole day of thrills and memories! However, if you aren’t staying at one of these resorts, Kalahari Resort offers day passes to their indoor waterpark for those who aren’t guests. All of these waterparks have something for all ages, from kiddie pools for the little ones to relaxed waterslides and pools and crazy, extreme waterslides and wave pools for teens and adults. The whole family will have a blast!

Night – The waterparks can be exhausting! Relax and get some time together as a whole family by having a night in with pizza delivered right to your door. There are several delicious choices to choose from including: Moosejaw, Sarentos, Pizza Pub, and Domino’s. Moosejaw has an extensive menu with a wide variety of items so it’s ideal if you’re looking for something other than just pizza. Both Sarentos and Pizza Pub are delicious Italian restaurants with pasta and entree options as well and Sarento’s offers discounts to Wilderness guests. Domino’s is always a tasty classic. So snuggle up with a family flick and pizza of choice for a cozy ending to your second day of vacation.

DAY 3: Indoor Themepark & Tanger Outlet Mall

Morning – Grab the family and head to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Hearty meals with a home-style feel, their breakfast menu has all the favorites, some options with a unique flair, and lighter choices, so you can breakfast your way. The interior gives the feel of a cozy, old-style breakfast on the ranch. After breakfast, be sure to check out Cracker Barrel’s famous store. Here, you’ll find one of a kind souvenirs to take home, adorable gifts for the kids and other family members, and endless other treasures.

Afternoon – The shopping doesn’t stop there! Across Highway 12 from Cracker Barrel is Tanger Outlet Mall. Designer stores at outlet prices, you’ll find shopping catered to mom, dad, teens, and kids. All the latest spring fashions will be on display so you can get started on this season’s wardrobe or simply look for a new outfit for dinner. Next, head to Knuckleheads, right across the parking lot, for a late afternoon of endless family funtivities! If you have a need for speed, hit up the indoor go-kart track or lace up those bowling shoes and challenge each other to a few games. Lunch can be found at Buffalo Phil’s, which is attached, or the snack bar where they have quick little meals so you can get back to the fun faster. Then test your bravery on the high ropes course and thrill rides. If parents need a break, load up the arcade cards and relax as the kids go crazy!

Night – For dinner, check out Wisconsin Dells’ newest restaurant, Wisconsin Brew Pub! Taking the place of Damon’s at Kalahari Resort, Wisconsin Brew Pub features all the best the dairyland state has to offer. Wisconsin brewed beer and a wide array of cheese themed dishes, both parents and kids alike with love this newest addition to The Dells dining scene. The overall feel of the restaurant will boast a “casual Wisconsin neighborhood tavern atmosphere”. There will also be games so the kids can continue their fun and parents can join in too!
