Not only will the downtown area be alive with 20 culinary booths but festivities such as inflatable rides, a corvette parade, a craft show and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament are planned as well.

This will be the sixth annual Taste of the Dells. The event was created to entice potential visitors into the downtown Dells area during the slowest month of the tourist season. The first Taste of the Dells succeeded in this task and the now much looked forward to weekend has been a hit ever since. The celebration is planned by the Downtown Dells Committee which is preparing for upwards of 10,000 people this year.

“Taste of the Dells gives attendees the opportunity to try a little bit of everything the area has to offer as each restaurant never gives you a full meal. The event itself is free making the weekend a time of fun, entertainment and good food without spending a fortune. We have set the whole thing up to be very customer friendly with non-stop entertainment for the whole family” states Mark Sweet, one of the event’s coordinators.

The Wisconsin Dells area’s 20 best restaurants will be in attendance; selling their most delectable dishes for $4 or less. There truly will be something enticing for everyone with food from around the world including: Polish, Italian, Chinese, Cajun and American. The yearly favorite BBQ and a selection of desserts will also be available and those 21 and over will be able to enjoy the beer tent as well. Kicking off the weekend at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at least 150 shining Corvettes will make their way down Broadway in the Corvette parade. Other events occurring that day are the antique tractor show from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and the Laina Bailey 3-on-3 tournament from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Locals with a creative spark will be showcasing their talents in Bowman Park during the Arts and Crafts Show taking place on both Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, 9.a.m. to 3 p.m.

Children will find the perfect outlet for their energy on the inflatable rides located on Oak Street. The food tents will also be found at this location allowing parents to relax and eat while keeping an eye on their kids. Also on Oak Street will be the entertainment stage with acts performing throughout the day. Some of the performers scheduled are: the Wisconsin Dells High School Jazz Ensemble, Josh B’Gosh the magician, the Dells Dance Center and Vanessa London.
