It’s a Jolly Holiday at the Palace Theater in Wisconsin Dells. Mary Poppins flew into town and she’s only here until January 3rd. Luckily, Dells.com had the privilege to go see the show and it was as sweet as a spoonful of sugar!
With all of the original songs as the 1964 movie, the musical has added a few new hits to offer a magnificent twist and add a spark to the original classic! The singing and dancing in the show was beyond extraordinary. By the end of the Musical, the whole theater was singing and clapping along as if us, the audience, was actually singing Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious in the park with Mary Poppins! I felt like I was watching a musical performance at a theater in New York.
Mary Poppins is accompanied by a delicious meal an hour and a half before show time. The entrée, which includes seasoned chicken, juicy beef tenderloin, steamed vegetables and a twice-baked potato is served with a full salad and a dessert. Oh, not to mention a full bar! The dessert was a slice of deliciously moist multi-layered chocolate cake and was served at intermission. It was so nice the way it was timed so we all got a delectable treat halfway through the show. The slice of cake was so good; it had us singing Chim Chim Cher-ee!
All in all, it was a very fun night filled with singing, dancing, and a great meal. I’m going to try to see Mary Poppins again before it finishes up its last performance at the Palace Theater on January 3rd.
