One of the best places to go for cross country skiing in Wisconsin Dells is Devil’s Lake State Park. Located in Baraboo, Wisconsin, it is typically open from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily. If you’re planning on visiting during the winter season, the visitor center will only be open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. One of the things that makes the area so great for cross country skiing is that the park consists of around 10,000 acres of space. It is truly one of Wisconsin’s best natural vacation destinations for those who are interested in all that it has to offer. The park has over 22 miles of cross country skiing trails for you to choose from depending on your needs. Grooming on those trails is traditionally performed every Friday, but general maintenance may also be extended to Monday or Tuesday if the situation demands it. According to officials at the park, Saturday and Sunday are the two days when the most visitors are using the various cross country skiing trails. Because weather in Wisconsin Dells and the state in general can change with such short notice, it is always recommended that you call ahead for information before you and your family stop by for a visit.

Another great destination for all who are interested in cross country skiing is Mirror Lake State Park. Located in Wisconsin Dells, the park is open from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM every day of the week. One of the major benefits to the park is how beautiful it is, thanks in large part to the wooded shoreline and the large number of cliffs that surround it. The park offers almost 18 miles of trails that are used for cross country skiing purposes. Cross country skiing aficionados will also be pleased to know that additional skiing trails are in the development process and will be open to the general public in the near future.
