True Horrors are coming to the Dells this October

 

From haunted houses and boats to whole theme parks, Wisconsin Dells truly has all things terrifying this October. Warning, these attractions are not for the faint of heart, only those who are willing to stare fear in the face should dare to take on these bone-chilling haunts. Come kick off the Halloween season right in Wisconsin Dells where ghost stories come to life.

 

Starting with a moonlit voyage on the Wisconsin River, the Ghost Boat is an adventurous night of tales and thrills. Do you believe in ghost stories? The haunting tales of Wisconsin Dells are told during the boat excursion, which ends up docking at Witches Gulch. Uncover the terrifying truth on the trek through the pitch-black gorge. Be careful, or you might just become part of the legends yourself. This hour and a half boat ride leaves from the main dock in Wisconsin Dells, Friday and Saturday's in October. For the ultimate haunting experience, head to Mount Olympus Water and Theme Park for the "Not So Spooky Halloween Party"! The event is held on Friday and Saturday nights at Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park. The event features a live DJ. All guests and visitors are strongly encouraged to show up in their best Halloween outfit. Be sure to visit Kalahari Waterpark Resort & Convention Center Halloween weekend for tons of frightfully fun family activities and much more! Ready for a fright night? Check out the Tombstone Tow and Mirror Mazeat the Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort. A scarier hotel you will not find. Check-in is easy, checking out however......

Ripley's Believe It or Not, world-renowed for most unusual displays, will host Fright Night at the Museum. Friday and Saturday nights in October, along with Halloween of course. Chad Lewis, a well-known author of the strange and bizarre, will give a special presentation that will take the audience on a paranormal journey to some of the most spooky places in Wisconsin. For a really good scary time, Ghost Out-Post Haunted House is filled with adventure that will shake your knees! Call for details and times 608-254-2127.

A new corn maze can be found near the corner of Highway 16 and Country Road O. The DiMarti Family Farms Corn Maze & Fun Park features a 4-acre corn maze with a host of other activities like the pumpkin patch, the corn cannon, water balloon slingshots, wagon rides and more. 

Always a favorite are the hayrides and a corn maze which you can find at Red Ridge Ranch, close to Wisconsin Dells in Mauston. 

The Friends of Mirror Lake and the State Park Staff are organizing a Halloween Candlelight Mystery Hike on October 27.  An easy 1-mile torch lit Mystery hike for kids of all ages to enjoy. Follow the clues and help the Rangers discover our Mystery Guest! The Friends will have hot dogs, brats, beverages and goodies for sale. Something a little different for Halloween: Poppy Waterman Ice Arena Halloween Skate. Both the Dells/Delton Blades and the Dells/Delton Figure Skating Club host a Halloween skate on the ice. Circus World Museum in Baraboo will be hosting a "spook-tacular" event on Oct 20, 2012. Enjoy an evening of mystery and entertainment at the third annual All Hallows Eve Grand Costume Ball. To find out more details call (608) 356-834.
 
There will be of plenty of running in the Dells on the weekend of October 21st. Starting from the Dells Sports Center near Chula Vista Resort is the Wisconsin Dells Honky Tonk Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5k. The organizers for the event can be reached at (847) 829-4538.

The Lake Delton Lions will be having their annual Safe Halloween Party for Kids. Costume Grand March with a gift for all participants and Candy/Popcorn Search for ages Pre-K to 5th Grade.
