Tommy Bartlett Exploratory - Interactive Science Center
In Wisconsin Dells, a town full of tourist attractions, resorts and waterparks, one of the most amazing and family friendly places to visit is the Tommy Bartlett Exploratory. This interactive science center is for children and adults of all ages. There are hands-on interactive activities to stretch the imagination and provide mental stimulation with science, technology and outer space. It encourages children to think deeply about the world and consider their place in it.
The Tommy Bartlett Exploratory has several exhibits to challenge young, and old, minds alike.
- The Giant Lever allows anyone to test their strength by lifting a 5,000 pound vehicle off the ground.
- The Mercury Space Capsule gives visitors a close up look at the pod in which America's first space explorers blasted off to space and then splashed into the ocean as they landed back on earth.
- A replica of a Russian Space Station, the only one in the world that is open to visitors, shows the living space and docking place for the space station.
- The High Wire SkyCycle takes its riders 12 feet into the air and balances them on a bike trail--the thinnest in the world.
- The Virtual Sports Center invites everyone to participate in various games and sports through computer generation and an imaginary environment.
- The Bridge of Fire, created by Van de Graaff in the 1940s, teaches about the static electricity generator and is one of the most popular exhibits at the Exploratory.
The Tommy Bartlett Exploratory is open year-round for daily visits by the tourist public and for local enjoyment. With reasonable pricing and children under 5 being free, there is every reason to visit this science center and experience these fascinating exhibits. Come and see!
