DELLS RIVER DISTRICT®
The name "Dells River District" was acquired from the Wisconsin Dells' trademark river tradition. With all of the changes and improvements being made, the Dells River District will offer visitors a place to enjoy the distinctive architecture and character of the already existent businesses. Only in Downtown Dells Most Small-town downtowns are sleepy little main streets. Not so in Wisconsin Dells. Downtown Dells is anything but small and it's where it all starts. Area tourism sprang up around downtown and the Wisconsin River. Today it's called the Dells River District. What's found in Downtown Dells? Scenic beauty, for one, the meandering river and towering sandstone bluffs. There's tons of shopping, with everything from classic moccasins to art glass and antiques. Food has to be included. Especially fudge and an eclectic mix of ethnic restaurants. Entertainment? Absolutely - and much of it is free. What's more, mini-golf, amusement parks, haunted houses, a state historical site and festivals are all part of this downtown too. More than 200 offerings make up Downtown Dells. Better block out at least a day for this entertaining opportunity. Shopping. Downtown Dells is one big, inviting shopping experience. Take home a unique find from any one of the specialty shops lining the streets. There are classic gift stores that feature arts, apparel, footwear, jewelry, antiques, swim wear and souvenir finds, as well as delightfully different stores filled with exciting discoveries. Where is the Dells River District? The Dells River District will begin at Exit 87 of I 90/94 and will extend to the intersection of Hwys. 12-16-13-23. It will extend south to the city limits on the Wisconsin Dells Pkwy., north to Rocky Arbor State Park and east to the intersection of Hwys. 13-23-16.
