The Mid-Continent Railway Museum in North Freedom, Wisconsin has been recreating the golden age of railroad history since 1963. It is one of the top attractions in the Wisconsin Dells region providing visitors with a look at how a railroad was run from 1880-1916.

Come and enjoy a seven mile trip that takes about an hour on this historic train. Ride through the Baraboo hills in steel coaches that were designed in 1915. Listen as the conductor calls "All Aboard" as you begin your journey. Admission includes a stop at the historic Coach Shed containing restored freight trains and historical railroad artifacts.

View some beautiful diesel powered freight cars that were used to carry children to school and passengers to work. The museum has an amazing collection of steam powered locomotives on display made by many different companies. There are displays of wooden passenger cars expertly designed with elaborate dining rooms and kitchens for passengers to enjoy. The Coach Shed also has a large collection of cabooses and, freight cars that are made of wood and steel. Relive the golden age of railroad history by visiting The Mid-Continent Railway Museum.

The museum hosts some special train rides like Autumn Color Weekend. While you enjoy the beautiful fall scenery you will be waited on by friendly staff serving snacks and beverages. This ride runs only on Saturdays and Sundays a few weekends in October. The Santa Express runs late November for kids and their families. Receive gifts from Santa and his elves while riding in this decorated car.
