Football is a huge Wisconsin tradition, so it makes sense that Wisconsin Dells would have a great selection of sports bars. We’ve taken into account the food, the size of the TVs and the beer flow to come up with a list of some places in the area to watch your favorite team bring home the big win!

Spring Brook Sports Bar & Grill

Wings, burgers, and brews, oh my! Spring Brook Sports Bar & Grill’s menu caters to the sports fanatic’s taste buds and is the perfect compliment to any game. Don’t miss a second of the action at the Spring Brook Sports Bar & Grill; they have 26 TV screens to glue your eyes to! Sit at the bar, a high-top table, a booth in the dining room and still have front row seats to your favorite game.

Monk’s Bar & Grill

Burgers, beer and football go together like…well nothing else because it’s one of the best combinations out there! Monk’s Bar & Grill has some of the most satisfyingly delicious burgers in the area and a variety of TV screens, making it an ideal place to catch the big game. With two locations in the Dells area, we promise you will enjoy the atmosphere as much as the game. Monk’s at the Wilderness has 45 flat screen TVs for the ultimate sports fanatic! For a true Wisconsin experience, we recommend the Bucky Badger Burger with a side of cheese curds.

Wisconsin Brew Pub

Celebrate all things football and Wisconsin at Wisconsin Brew Pub at the Kalahari Resort. Test out the (Pabst Blue Ribbon) battered Everyday Wisconsin Fish Fry or the Tailgater Burger while cheering on your favorite team. Celebrate a big win with a Build Your Own S’mores dessert! You’ll love the casual, friendly tavern atmosphere of the Wisconsin Brew Pub.

Marley’s A Taste of the Caribbean

Feel as if you’re on a tropical vacation to the Caribbean, and catch the big game at the same time! Marley’s menu features delicious appetizers and entrées with a Jamaican flair. All of your favorite brews are available but why not switch it up and enjoy a fruity drink to complete the beachy theme. Dare we mention the 12′x12′ projection screen? It will practically feel as if you’re at the stadium!

Brat House Grill

Talk about front row seats! Watching the game on Brat House Grill’s giant, 14′ HD TV will put you right in the middle of the action! Game day specials make the Brat House Grill an even better place to watch football! Their menu is filled with Wisconsin favorites… like brats! A full bar complete with creative drinks, a wide variety of brews, and a friendly atmosphere, make “Wisconsin Dells’ Wurst Bar” an ideal place to catch the game.

Moosejaw Pizza & Dells Brewing Co.

Considering Moosejaw Pizza & Dells Brewing Co. brews their own beer in 10 different styles, it isn’t hard to guess why it’s the perfect place to watch football. Their extensive and delicious menu items can easily pair with your handcrafted Dells Brewing Co. brew. Out with friends? The upstairs bar has a fun atmosphere with a little more noise (perfect to pump you up!). TVs surround the circular bar so you have a great view of the game, no matter where you choose to sit. Have the kiddos for the day? No problem! The downstairs bar has multiple TV screens as well, along with a game room to keep the little ones occupied.

Celebrate Life Event 2014

Marley’s A Taste of the Caribbean – Celebrate Life 2014

Wisconsin Dells only American Cancer Society event

Talk about a feel-good event! Guests celebrated life this past Saturday at Marley’s A Taste of the Caribbean in Wisconsin Dells. The Celebrate Life event was held on September, 6th and raised money and awareness for the American Cancer Society (ACS).

The ACS event kicked off early for some. Guests moved and grooved to popular tunes with a zumba party from 9:30 am-11:30 am.

The main event was held from 3 pm-8 pm and was well worth the $20 admission donation. The bright colors of Marley’s created the perfect setting for a variety of family-friendly activities. Visitors were invited to take part in both live and silent auctions (with Todd Nelson, auctioneer) containing everything from a football signed by the Packers to durable patio furniture. The event also included a raffle with a chance to win the featured prize of $1000! The winners of this year’s raffle, Keith & Michelle Koehler, donated their prize back to the ACS cause!

Each year, a variety of donors contribute to making top-notch prize packages available to guests. Stories among those who attended were that of courage, triumph and loss due to the harsh battles with cancer. Visitors commented about the need for events like Celebrate Life; everyone’s lives seem to be touched by cancer in some way, shape or form.

Live music was provided for the evening by Brian Beebe and Friends (a welcome returning act to the Marley’s ACS stage). The band’s fun covers of current songs and original pieces were the perfect background for a night of storytelling.

The Celebrate Life event at Marley’s replaces the Wisconsin Dells Relay For Life (which ceased about 9 years ago). Celebrate Life has seen phenomenal support since its beginnings, and has been getting bigger and bigger with every passing year. Each year, the event raises over $50,000 to help fund research at the American Cancer Society, and this year was no exception.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Marley’s A Taste of the Caribbean for hosting the Celebrate Life event and all attendees, in person and spirit, who are committed to the fight against cancer!

Continue your Wisconsin Dells firework experience with a Saturday, July 5th event, Dells on Fire - Christmas Mountain Village, Wisconsin Dells

All of the mentioned firework locations will begin launching their firework shows at dusk. Bring a chair or blanket, most places have little/no seating available. Don’t forget to pack a camera! Although many people shy away from taking firework photography due to lackluster results, you can capture firework images this year with these helpful hints!

1. Use a tripod.

Because of the darker night skies and longer shutter exposures, tripods are the most effective way of holding your camera perfectly still. The longer shutter exposure to capture the beauty of the firework also captures any other movement of the camera (creates a blurry-looking photograph).

2. Perfect your shutter speed, aperture, & ISO.

Shutter Speed – Anywhere from 1-15 seconds. Longer exposures will capture a longer period of time. Try switching up your shutter speed if you don’t like the look of your images.
Aperture – f/8 to f/16 is a great place to start
ISO – ISO 100 to help create a clearer image

3. Framing your shot.

Framing the image may be one of the hardest pieces of taking firework photography. Because you have no way of knowing how high each firework is going, it’s best to keep your camera zoomed out until you can hone-in on their location in the sky.

4. Switch it up.

Both horizontal and vertical compositions work well for firework photography. Because of their vertical nature, you can capture a firework from blast-off to boom! Try and capture single fireworks with a vertical framing, and the coveted finale in a horizontal frame.

5. Turn the flash off.

Be sure to keep the flash off when photographing fireworks. The flash will create a quick exposure to stop time and doesn’t translate well with firework photography. Try taking one photo with the flash on and you’ll see what we mean!

6. Don’t get frustrated!

The key is not to get frustrated. Often times it takes several photos to get the settings correct! The great thing about digital photography is the capability to keep shooting images without worrying about filling up film. Digital photography also allows you to view the images to ensure their quality BEFORE sending them to get developed. Anyone remember the good ol’ days of disposable cameras? You never knew what would come out after developing!

Happy Independence Day everyone!
